May is here! Officially counting down until The Endless One show on Friday May 24th at Paradigm Gallery. I am excited but…wow…I have a lot of work ahead of me. Building these pieces has been such a challenge. I have been experimenting with making things more 3 dimensional and it has been interesting to see how each layer enters into the surrounding space it inhabits. Here is a picture of the finished face plate for the new piece Eternal New.
I have resorted to laying out all the layers for this new piece on the floor downstairs to assemble them. My studio has lost most of it’s limited wall space at this point. I’m pretty excited to see it coming together. The rest of the week will be spent painting, assembling the faceplate that goes on the front of the piece and wiring the LED’s inside.
Very excited about these new business cards. I had them printed with an illuminated bright blue background for added depth, and the result turned out lovely. Thankful when that happens. Wasn’t sure how the finished product would look until I received them. This design is based on a similar one that is a three part screen printing series for “The Endless One” show. I hope others enjoy these cards as well, or at least re-purpose them for bike reflectors.
Been cutting wood the entire day, but the show is close and I’m looking forward to sharing some new work. This last big piece is coming together nicely…at last. Third time building it. I had added some previous elements that just were not aesthetically right. Sometimes you got to break it all down before you build it back up.
Went to Paradigm Gallery to pick up my show cards and then sat outside and enjoyed the warm afternoon with a coconut frozen treat. Can’t get enough of this weather. It’s been refreshing.
Ah yes, Spring has finally arrived in Philadelphia, and I have some time to prep new pieces outside for a change. Time is moving fast, but I am looking forward to sharing new works from The Endless One series. It’s been a challenge for me objectively and subjectively speaking. So here goes whatever is left…
